On September 2, 2024, the Agentur f\u00fcr Innovation in der Cybersicherheit GmbH (Cyberagentur) invites you to the partnering event for the new research project \u201cForensic Digitized Data\u201d. The aim of the project is to develop a standardized data format for forensically relevant data in order to increase efficiency and accuracy in forensics by merging and analyzing heterogeneous data formats. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The Cyberagentur is working on the groundbreaking research project to create a standardized data format for forensically relevant data. The aim is to significantly increase efficiency and accuracy in forensics by bringing together analog and digital information such as expert reports, fingerprints, hard disk images and network data. <\/p>\n\n

Currently, forensic work is severely limited by heterogeneous data formats, which makes it considerably more difficult to compare and analyze data. The new project aims to develop a data format that makes it possible to merge these different formats. This includes both the direct comparability of time stamps and location data as well as the calculation of new information such as gait patterns. \u201cThe aim is to develop innovative algorithms that can extract additional biometric information from combined data sources, such as a video recording and a footprint,\u201d explains Til Wei\u00dfflog, who is leading the research project as a research officer in the Secure Society department. <\/p>\n\n

The development of such a generic data format represents a major scientific challenge, as the high heterogeneity of forensic data and traces must be taken into account. In addition, the legal framework for forensic applicability must be taken into account, which places the project in the area of high-risk research. Successful completion of the project could mean significant progress for forensic end users and research institutions. <\/p>\n\n

A partnering event will take place on September 2, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. Interested parties can find out more about the research project and exchange ideas with potential partners. Further information on the event and registration can be found on the research project website. <\/p>\n\n
